Designed by Peak Alpine and sewn in Canada. Used by guides, sledders, climbers, skiers, snowboarders, and in many industries (tower workers, railroad, firefighers, security, police, military, ambulance, mountain rescue, aviation, construction, etc).
These lightweight, one-size-fits-all water resistant external remote lapel radio speaker mic covers work well on regular radio mics (Kenwood, Icom, Motorola, Baofeng, TYT, Anytone, Wouxun etc.) as well as on Backcountry Access (BCA) Link Smart Mics.
They are very easy to use. Simply pass the mic through the bungee drawstring from front to back, to ensure the cover does not get lost, and then pull the drawstring tight around the radio mic.
You can still use the lapel clip on the back of the radio mic, and you can insert an earpiece if your radio mic has that port. You press the side of the mic to activate your push-to-talk (PTT) button on your radio microphone. The cover does not interfere with pushing the PTT button.
If you have a BCA Link radio with a Smart Mic, you can turn the volume dial up and down while the cover is on.
These covers keep dirt, wind, rain and snow from interfering with the sound quality and function of your radio microphone. The covers do not reduce sound transmission, while having the added benefit of dramatically reducing wind noise when transmitting from a moving vehicle or when you are in a windy location.
These covers do not make your radio microphone waterproof, however, they are water and rain resistant and do protect your mic from the elements.
Communication is a critical component of safety, and these mic covers improve and protect your radio communication!
